This zine pertains to riot grrrl music and music at large with band interviews and profiles. The author, Sheila Burgel, uses cut and paste techniques, photographs, and clip art images in between reviews of bands by both the author and other zinesters. Plume also includes letters from readers and some personal writing. Issue 3 contains opinion columns on indie music, Bjork, and breakdancing, as well as lists of favorite female riot grrrl musicians and favorite male musicians. There are also book reviews of Kerouac and several pictures of bands, as well as interviews with the band Slowdive and Seana Carmody of the band Swirlies. The back of the zine has a photocopied sex scene from a romance novel. Issues 7-8 reference many different bands, some of which include P.J. Harvey, The Carpenters, Saint Etienne, Slowdive, Pet Shop Boys, Massive Attack, Sensuround, Portishead, and Lois. Sheila Burgel, at the time of the zine was a high school student and played in a band called Raggedy Ann. She also founded “Cha Cha Charming” magazine.
