Banana Q is a zine "for the yella brown and down!" that follows the personal life of Therese Garcia. She focuses on issues pertaining to Asians and Pacific Islanders who live or travel in Anglo-dominant countries. There are also safety tips, travel ideas, and reviews of books, food, movies, and zines. Issue four includes a detailed account of the author's experience with police brutality and getting arrested at a protest, an interview with author with Filipino-American author Cecilia Manguerra Brainerd, and an extensive list of Southern California eateries. This issue also talks about Therese's tomboy childhood and her study abroad at Oxford. Visual elements include clip art, photos, collages, and art.
