Johanna, a feminist and activist raised in New York by immigrant parents, writes about her incompatibility with her conservative peers at Southern Methodist University in Texas. They are sorority sisters or frat brothers, whereas Johanna is more comfortable outside of predefined stereotypes. She writes about riot grrrl, her struggles with depression, parental pressure to pursue a useful career, relationship drama and sexuality, father issues, and dissatisfaction with society's standards for women. Also included are zine reviews.
